It may result in cognitive impairment, hearing loss, high blood pressure, stress, and sleep difficulties. The risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke has been linked to prolonged exposure to noise pollution. It may also result in mental health problems including anxiety and depression. Additionally, noise pollution can hinder dialogue among neighbours, which can result in loneliness and social exclusion.
